TOPIC about_tcs.intune.packaging SHORT DESCRIPTION Functions to build, package and deploy application and configuration packages for Microsoft Intune. LONG DESCRIPTION tcs.intune.packaging creates Win32 .intunewin packages with Microsoft's IntuneWinAppUtil.exe, Application Packaging Framework (APF) installer packages, Win32 app detection and requirement rules, and the Entra ID groups used to deploy an application. The module needs Windows (Windows PowerShell 5.1 or PowerShell 7) and tcs.core 0.3.0 or later. Commands that talk to Entra ID or Intune also need the Microsoft.Entra or Microsoft.Graph.Authentication modules. APF packages are built from the installer scripts in the module's Public/Templates folder. Each package contains Intune-I-MainInstaller.ps1 (install command: powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -File Intune-I-MainInstaller.ps1, uninstall: the same with -Uninstall), optional pre- and post-install scripts, config.installer.json and a detection script. IntuneWinAppUtil.exe is kept per user in %LOCALAPPDATA%\tcs.intune.packaging. Every exported command reports anonymous usage telemetry through tcs.core (command name, duration, success, exception type, PowerShell and OS version and a random installation ID). No user, machine, path or error text is sent. Nothing is sent until a TelemetryUri is configured. Turn it off with -Telemetry $false or the TCS_TELEMETRY_OPTOUT=1 environment variable. Publish-IntuneAppPackage and New-IntuneWin32Application create Win32 apps in Intune and upload their content with Microsoft Graph.
